Am frühen Nachmittag hat mich OE3AWN angerufen und gefragt ob ich Interesse hätte mit ihm ein paar QSOs om Freien zu machen. Na nicht na ned!

One of my local HAM friends called me and asked if I'm interested in a non prepared outdoor activity - sure of course!

Ziel der Aktivität war es einfach etwas Funkaktivität zu machen. OE3AWN hatte einen Yaesu 891 mit 100W dabei. Ich habe den IC705 eingesetzt mit 10W. OE3AWN hat eine 60Ah Starterbatterie mitgehabt. Zum SOTArieren ist das natürlich wegen dem Gewicht ungeeignet.

Our goal was simply to have some fun on the bands. OE3AWN had a Yaesu 891 with 100W. I used a IC705 with just 10W. OE3AWN carried a 60Ah car battery. for SOTA it is far too heavy.

Meine Antenne war eine MP1 die sich auf allen Bändern bis nahezu SWR 1:1 abzustimmen gegangen. Ich habe die beigelegte Werkzeug benutzt um die Antenne grob auf das Band einzustellen. Dann mit der SWR Messung des Icom die Schiebespule sehr gering bewegt um das Optimum auf die von mir gewählte Stelle zu schieben.

I used a MP1 antenna. I was able to trim the antenna to almost 1:1. I used the scale which is shipped with the antenna to set it to the desired band. Then I used the Icom tool to measure the SWR and finetuned the coil with micromovements to my selected frequency.

Der Nachmittag brachte insgesamt 10 QSOs ins Log. Auffällig viele Stationen mit Sonderrufzeichen. Ich habe mehrfach versucht CW QSOs zu führen kam aber nicht durch. Mit einer polnischen Station hat es funktioniert, ich hatte dann aber QRM lokal und habe das QSO nicht fertig stellen können. Zumal bin ich noch zu langsam für übliche QSO Geschwindigkeiten beim "lesen".

The afternoon got me 10 QSOs in the log. Quite interesting we had many special station call signs. I tried several CW QSOs but got no contact. With a polnish special event station I started a QSO. Infortunately I was interrupted by local QRM. I was a bit too slow for normal CW QSOs.

OE3AWN hatte eine Outbacker 2000 Antenne dabei. Er hat einen nanoVNA benutzt um ein optimales SWR einzustellen.
