Das erste Ziel war der Stenstein. Im Norden vom Mühlviertel in der Nähe der
tschechischen Grenze gibt es ein bekanntes Schiegebiet in dem ich schon vor 50 Jahren oft
war. Heutzutage moderne Lifte, mit einer Besonderheit der Lift en wir benutzt haben hatte
Sessel als auch Gondeln am Seil. Damit uns nicht so kalt wird haben wir die Gondel benutzt.
Das Wetter am 31.12. war kalt und feucht. Von der Bergstation sind wir hinauf zum Turm gewandert
um dort die Aktivierung durchzuführen. Wegen der unangenehmen feuchten Bedingungen und dem
zähen Vorankommen haben wir nach 4 QSOs den Berg wieder verlassen. Beim Abstieg bin ich
gestürzt und auf den Rucksack gefallen. Starke Prellungen waren die Folge die sich aber
erst die tage danach deutlich merkbar gemacht haben.
The first destination was the Stenstein. In the north of the Mühlviertel
region, near the Czech border, there's a well-known ski area where I used to go often 50
years ago. Nowadays, it has modern lifts, but the one we used had a unique feature: both
chairlifts and gondolas. To avoid getting too cold, we took the gondola. The weather on
December 31st was cold and damp. From the mountain station, we hiked up to the tower to
perform the activation. Due to the unpleasant damp conditions and the slow progress, we
left the mountain after four contacts. On the descent, I fell and landed on my backpack.
This resulted in severe bruising, which only became truly noticeable in the following days.
