Diamond CP-6S

Nachdem die HF-X80 nicht so wirklich gut funktioniert hat habe ich nach etwas besserem Ausschau gehalten. Ziel war es eine Mehrbandantenne zu finden die auch wenig Platz braucht, den tatsächlichen Bedarf habe ich deutlich unterschätzt. Mit der CP-6S von Diamond waren diese Forderungen erfüllt. Die Antenne ist eine Groundplane deren Stäbe Resonanzkreise hat die abgestimmt werden können.

Ad the HF-80 did not work as god as I expected I was looking around to find a better one. The goal was to find a multiband antenna which requires little space. As you will see later the CP6S also requires a lot of space I underestimated that fact. The CP-6S seems to fulfill my requirements. It is a ground plane antenna with resonators which can be trimmed.

Die Antenne habe ich bei einem Wiener Händler gekauft. Die Schachtel ist sehr klein im vergleich zur aufgebauten Antenne.

I bought the antenna at a local Viennese dealer. The box is quite small compared with the assembled antenna.

In meiner Schachtel war eine rein japanisch sprachige Anleitung. Das Internet hilft da aber weiter, die englische Variante war rasch gefunden.

In my box I had only a Japanese description. The WEB helps I easily found an English version.

In der Schachtel sind überraschend viele Teile, die zunächst ein ordentliches Chaos am Tisch verursachen. Die Anleitung erklärt einigermaßen gut wie das zusammengebaut werden soll. Dennoch hatte ich einige Fehlmontagen die aber schnell erkannt worden sind.

The box has a lot of components which cause quite a mess on the table. The description explains the assembly. I misplaced some components, but it was easy to spot them.

Am Stab entlang gibt es im oberen Teil 2 Ringe mit Stäben die einen Kondensator bilden. Im Stab sind Löcher zur Entlüftung und Wasserabfuhr da dachte ich zunächst gehören die Ringe positioniert, weil sich das eher so aufdrengt. Die Anleitung beschreibt aber klar die Ringe gehören 24 bzw 8 cm vom Stabende aus gemessen montiert

The antenna core has 2 rings with wires which form a capacity. There are holes in the Pipe which are used for ventilation and to allow water to run out. I initially used them to position the ring. The manual describes exactly that they should be positioned 24 and 8 cm from the top side of the segment.

Die Radials sind an Ringen befestigt. Die Löcher sollen für die endgültige Montage nach unten gerichtet werden damit allfällig eingedrungenes Wasser abfließen kann

The radials are again mounted on rings. The holes should be on the bottom side to allow water which might get in to drain out.

Die erste Stellprobe der Antenne zeigte den enormen Platzbedarf der Radials. Das Abstimmen der Antenne ist einfach durch herausziehen der Stäbe in den Radials. Bereits wenige Zentimeter ändern eine Menge am Band.

After assembly I recognized the enormous amount the antenna requires. The radials require a lot of space. Trimming is easy I used my antenna tuner to adjust the bands. There are sticks in the radials which can be pulled out. Even a few centimeters change a lot on the bands.
