Was ist das RHC Rating

Das RHC Rating ist ein klein wenig Funkspaß kann aber für Wanderer und SOTA Begeisterte durchaus ein nützlicher Hinweis sein. Wie gleich beschrieben wird das ist nichts offizielles sondern ein Witz von mir der in Ostösterreich durchaus Verbreitung gefunden hat.

What is the RHC Rating

The RHC rating is basically a HAM joke. It is used to point hikers and SOTA enthusiasts in a direction. As I will explain below it's nothing official, it's a joke. In eastern part of Austria it got popular over the recent years to describe conditions near a SOTA point.


Abkürzung

RHC steht in diesem Fall für [R]adio [H]ill [C]check also wie sind die Bedingungen am SOTA Punkt. Es gibt einen Freund von mir Reinhard OE1RHC der am Stuhleck OE/ST-171 während einer Aktivierung meinte: Es stört ihn nicht so sehr daß es regnet, wirklich ärgerlich ist daß die Hütte zu hat!

Abreviation

RHC is used here instead of [R]adio [H]ill [C]check, it describes the conditions at at specific SOTA point. I have a friend here in Austria Reinhard OE1RHC. I complained once during the activation of Stuhleck OE/ST-171: it is not bad that it's raining he complained about the fact that the hut was closed.


In einer Aufstellung die ich seit einigen Jahren führe gebe ich bei den Wandertouren an wie Wanderfreundlich der SOTA Punkt ist. Im Wesentlichen ob es am Gipfel oder in brauchbarer Entfernung von dort Möglichkeit zur persönlichen Versorgung gibt. Zusätzlich geht der Aufwand zum erreichen des SOTA Punktes ein. Das basiert auf meiner persönlichen Einschätzung mehr Bedeutung hat das nicht!

In an list which I maintain here I have entries about the availability to get personal support on drinks and food on the SOTA point or in moderate distance to it. Additionally the hiking effort is reflected as well. It is based on my personal experience - take it or leave it!
